Configure in IPhone/IPad

If you have a mobile device with a pre-installed email program (like Blackberry, iPhone or iPad, Nokia-Symbian, Palm, Windows Mobile etc), you can configure the email program to synchronize with Zoho mail and access your mail on the move.

IPhone Configuration
  1. To begin with, you need to enable IMAP Access of your account.
  2. Log in to Zoho Mail and Enable IMAP in the Zoho Mail Settings page. Save the Settings.
  3. Select ‘Settings’>> ‘Mail’ from your iPhone Main Menu

  4. Select "Add Account >> ‘Other".
  5. Select "IMAP". 
  6. Enter your name in the "Name" field,

  7. Specify the complete email address in the Address field (username@yourdomain.com for users whose domains are hosted with Zoho and username@zoho.com for @zoho.com users)
  8. Scroll down and input the settings for your Incoming Mail Server
    1. In the Host name field, enter "imap.zoho.com" in the "Host Name" field. 
    2. In the User name field, enter your full email address username@yourdomain.com for users whose domains are hosted with Zoho and username@zoho.com for @zoho.com users 
    3. Provide you password in the "Password" field.
  9. Scroll down and input the settings for the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
    1. In the Host name field, enter "smtp.zoho.com" in the "Host Name" field. 
    2. In the User name field, enter your full email address username@yourdomain.com for users whose domains are hosted with Zoho and username@zoho.com for Zoho users 
    3. Provide you password in the "Password" field.

  10. Mail will then check your mail settings. It will verify your settings and add the email account. However, if your iPhone automatically checks in the wrong ports, an error message will be returned. Click 'OK' and proceed with account creation.

  11. Select ‘Settings’>> ‘Mail’ from your iPhone Main Menu
  12. Select the email account that you have just created.

  13. Scroll down and select "Advanced".

    1. Under Incoming Settings select "ON" for "Use SSL"
    2. In the Server port type in 993

    3. Save the settings and go back to 'Account Info'
  14. Scroll down and select "SMTP".

    1. From the list of added SMTP Settings, select 'smtp.zoho.com'
    2. Under Outgoing Settings select "ON" for "Use SSL"
    3. In the Server port type in 465

  15. Mail will then check your mail settings again. On successful login, the mail account will be created and you can view the folders added in your web mail account in the iPhone. 
  16. Upon successful completion, you will be navigated to Mails screen.

  17. To configure folder settings for synchronization, select the new account and Click Advanced.
  18. In Mailbox behaviors, map the iPhone/ iPad/ iPod folders to the folders in the Server.
  19. Choose the relevant IMAP Expunge Options in the Zoho Mail Web Interface.
  20. If you have chosen the option ' Not to expunge' in Zoho Mail, deleting a message in iPhone/ iPad/ iPod will not delete the message from Zoho mail. To change the settings in iPhone, navigate to Deleted Messages section, Click Remove. Choose an option based on your preference.
    • Never – Even if you delete a message in the device, it will not effect in the web mail
    • After One Day – When you delete a mail in your device, it will get deleted in the web mail a day later.
    • After One Week – When you delete a mail in your device, it will get deleted in the web mail after 1 week time.
    • After One Month – When you delete a mail in your device, it will get deleted in the web mail after 1 month time.
  21. The folders will now be in sync wherever you access the mails.
  22. You have now successfully configured Zoho mail in your iPhone/ iPad/ iPod.
IMAP Configuration settings for Zoho Mail
The Server details and the Port details are auto-detected by iPhone for configuration. Select the advanced Tab of Mail Settings to verify the port and SSL details as specified in the table below.
